When one of my colleagues and I were walking into the tube station 🚇 to go home, I walked over three drains as usual. Surprised, she asked me why I had done that and warned me: “It is bad luck if we walk over three drains.” 😕 I initially thought it was ridiculous. But then when we were on the train, I was holding my glasses with my right hand and it suddenly broke without any force 😢. At that time, I firmly believed in that superstition.

I have been trying to stay away from the three drains since. I know how stupid it is, yet still I can't seem to bring myself to step on the third one 🤦‍♀️.

Although I am constantly avoiding the cursed three drains as much as possible, I still hold the belief that people can tell their own fortune no matter what their superstitions are.

Steak Experience 🥩 absolutely not a review post 🙂

Flat Iron was the first steakhouse I experienced in the UK. And it gradually becomes my top choice whenever I 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲 beef steak.

📍At Flat Iron, steak is well seared, really nice char with crispy texture outside but still 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 and 𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 inside. To compliment the main star, sauces, side dishes and 𝗯𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 are also well-prepared. You can't be wrong with these kind of combinations.

I was especially impressed by the side dishes here. Roast Aubergine with tomato, basil and melted mozzarella was my most favourite. It was tender yet 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗺 and rich brown. It would be, I think, a perfect addition to a vegetarian sharing 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁.

After loads of travelling by train in London, only recently have I realised that newspapers are distributed freely on the London Underground. It is known as which you can easily find on trains and buses, and at railway/underground stations from Monday to Friday.

I frequently saw some guys take out their pencils ✏️ to solve the puzzle, especially the older ones. It seems like they are all ready for this game 😎.

Once I was in the restroom at a restaurant (that I can't remember its name in Edinburgh), I could not get out due to the lock being broken. I was totally stuck inside and so confused about what to do. 🙄 But I soon noticed this amusing message 😜
I laughed at myself: "I was really stuck and I was starting to panic before I saw you."

✅ The life lesson I learned is: “Don't panic, because everything is probably all right, and if it's not, panicking will make it worse.”

Đây là một trong những idiom xuất hiện trong bài thi THPTQG môn Tiếng Anh năm 2020.
Giải thích:
📌 "collar" nghĩa là cái cổ áo.
📌 "hot under the collar" nghĩa đen là nóng ở dưới cổ áo, tức là một người vì tức giận mà thấy nóng cả mặt cả cổ.
Trong ví dụ dưới đây, người mẹ thấy rất tức giận về việc con trai mình cố tình làm trái lời bà ấy.
