5 Principles for a Successful Consulting Business

Principle 1: Own a Problem

Practical Application:
Identify a clear problem that organisations, leaders or clients already have and are willing to pay to solve. Position yourself so strongly around that problem that when people think about it, they think about you. A consultancy grows faster when it is known for solving something specific rather than trying to do everything.

Principle 2: Have a Clear Process

Practical Application:
Develop a clear step-by-step framework that shows how you move clients from problem to solution. Your process should make the journey visible, structured and believable. When clients can see the path, they gain confidence in your ability to deliver results.
