I got it wrong.
I was teaching something the wrong way.
This week, I taught a drill which consisted of 4 moves.
When put together they were a hard combo for some.
One student got upset because they couldn’t do it .
I didn’t expect the low grades to actually get it and often say , don’t worry, this is for students way above your grade, but have fun trying.
This particular student can’t do that and got frustrated because of that.
That was on Tuesday.
Last night, Thursday, I changed how I taught it, to the same student.
And bingo, the student not only did it, but did it bloody well.
And they say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.
The fact that this 1 student did the drill made my week.
Plus , the way I taught it finally is a much better way of teaching .
