PAScribe Pencil - Large Copperplate 06

Writing with the pencil at 27mm is a task and a half. It really takes patience and leaning unto the tip more gently yet firmly than a nib.

This is about training sensitivity in the writing of lines.

Once again the pencil does what a quill would do on the base of the Q to finish off the tail.

Am loving these pencils.

The pencil allows shapes in one movement where with the nib it would require turning.

I feel learning Copperplate Script with a pencil would make you more inclined to write with a straight penstaff.

I am loving that you can really SEE the width and the depth of the shade. From a pencil. Ha! Brilliant.

I also remember the feeling of writing with the pencil. It is so soft and buttery.

Loving writing at this size of 27mm but it is a different technique and requires a lot of arm movement.

Is writing bigger with the PAScribe Pencils better? I am not sure. It certainly is easier but that, I feel is a cone truncation matter.

This is something I am keen to explore over the coming weeks. Not to mention other scripts.

How is it filming causes so many issues. I am too old for this!

I decided to redo the ‘Pencil Copperplate’ videos after updating the filming software.

I also tried a different approach to the ruling up of the sheets.

I much prefer these videos!

I would love you hear your thoughts on the ruling up.

Line 3, you really feel the cone of the core widening on the truncation but it is still close enough to the original size to make you feel confident you can manage the same width of shade.

This is the tricky area, do you resharpen or do you continue?

Line 2 allows you to get into the spirit of the writing. The tip is a little more use, so moving from flat to edge is a little easier

Am taking care not to press too hard.

It has a lovely feeling to it as you write with it.

I love how it feel gently leaning on the core.
