IEMT Q&A 25th August 2026

*****************

I have a question could IEMT be done with people with Aphantasia (I think that’s the word) she said she can not “see” or imagine things like we can, like she can’t see her car in her mind but can tell you the features?? Anyone come across this before?

*****************

If, in Session 1 after the opening Demo, the client’s main presenting issue is clearly an Identity imprint — for example, “Other people are better than me” — can I work directly with the relevant Identity pattern (I/Me/Self), or should I still follow the Session 1 flow chart and leave Identity work for Session 2?

*****************

In other words, can the presenting issue determine which IEMT pattern I start with after the Demo, or should I always complete the Session 1 sequence first?

*****************

What is the client is unable to locate the imprint for the presenting emotion?

*****************

Can IEMT be done over the phone?

*****************

I want to use IEMT in combination with counselling. How would I do this?

*****************

Can IEMT be used for alcohol issues?

IEMT Q&A 11th Aug 2026 with Matt Kendall

*************

I’m working on a case study and the person gets very tired doing all patterns of eye movements, to a point where he very quickly nodded off and saw the picture of a blue nemo fish flash in front of him. He got so tired I had to park the final modules of session 2 and arranged another time with him.

He also told me that after session 1 he was tired for almost 2 days after.

*************

Today I did a session and we started with the demo pattern. After 3 rounds although she reported a slight reduction in sentiment, it was present and the memory (image, feeling and sensation in the body) very close to her, on her right side.

I asked what was that sentiment and she told me that it was regret, of not having gotten along well with her grandmother the last time she saw her. It was at level 8, and after 3 rounds of K pattern was at level 10 and she reported a new emotion, of rejection.

I switch to work with the rejection which was at level 10, and after 3 rounds it was at level 7 and the memory 3 brought a new emotion of fear.

Then I switched and started working with that fear, which was at level 10, and after 3 rounds went to a 7. Because the session was already too long, I stopped there to continue next time.

My questions about this are:

Is it better to open these loops when the person brings anew emotion, or should I finish with an emotion/feeling before going to the next?

When doing the eye movements if the person brings a new memory, can we work with that new memory on the next round, or we ask for the first time they remember feeling that way and we discard that memory (in case it's not an older memory)?

When testing the k pattern (T1) about if the emotion remains, sometimes she reported not the emotion/feeling, but the sensation in her body. Should we verify the level of that body sensation?

And when closing these loops, should we go in reverse order or it doesn't matter? In the case above, where I went from regret >rejection > fear should I close the fear then return to rejection and then to regret?

Hi Matt I have someone who may possibly have had a Hemiplegic migraine or a small TIA (bleed on the brain) 2 different doctors gave different opinions I don't feel IEMT would be suitable if it was a TIA unsure about if a hemiplegic migraine. I won’t be using IEMT with them for now but would be interested your thoughts for future reference. This person wants to change their work life balance and stress. Thanks

IEMT Q&A 4th August 2026 with Matt Kendall

************

Hi. I did a very short session with someone due to time issues. After the eye movements the memory changed significantly, intensity and vividness. The client experienced 3 hours of relief after the eye movements. The original issue, constant looping of the memory returned. The client said that she in addition to the returning memory also noted that she could see how she wants to be in the future.

This was a new experience for her. My question is, why did she only have 3 hours of relief from the looping negative memory and why did it return. I've not yet done a second session with her. I hope this makes sense as typing doesn't translate nuances effectually. Thanks

I want to update my website and Hypnotherapy Directory profiles with an IEMT logo. I have my certificate, but is there an “official practitioner” logo?

************

Has anyone had experience of using IEMT for fear of insomnia after repeat bouts? I’ve managed to assess that rejection sensitivity and being alone are triggers so will be working on these.

She wakes with panic attacks about being alone. Separated and some issues with current partner. Rejection sensitivity triggered recent attack. Partners tone. Struggle to sleep unless someone there.

I’m also thinking of using the 3 pillars to understand her anxiety. Any tips?

************

Hi, I have a question.

1) When do you ask when is the first time you can remember being this way vs hearing an identity and saying where is me, how old is me, and what’s happening around me?

2) If me in what’s happening around (identity work) is feeling sad do you first work the kinaesthetic around that feeling and then go back and do the identity after or just run the lazy 8

IEMT Q&A 28th July 2026 with Matt Kendall

***************

Has anyone had experience of using IEMT for OCD and tics?

***************

I’m seeking some help for a client who has tinnitus and I’m pretty sure it’s related to a past trauma because after that was when it started, my thoughts are use the kinaesthetic pattern as normal while they elect that trauma and see what happens after a few days, if anyone can guide me further I would be open to other suggestions

Also just to note the ringing in his ears increases as stress levels or emotions increase

***************

Are we allowed to work with someone who wants to work on his fear of retiring? (And says he had ptsd many years ago, not now.)

***************

Are we allowed to work with a cancer patient on her fears from the process? ( She had cancer 20 years ago and now it returned).

***************

Can you do IEMT over the phone?

***************

Why do you leave 7 days between sessions?

IEMT Q&A 7th July 2026 with Matt Kendall

**********

How can I support my client after sessions?

**********

I am wondering what happens if you are just doing the demo to show them how it works and they then it opens up to the whole session starting because they have another emotion now about the memory. Do you just go with that instead of just trying to show them it works. Also it may be technically different from the actual problem they came in for and wanted to work on so that’s a bit tricky too. Thanks!

**********

I watched the most recent interview you did with Andy. This question relates to that interview.

Given the importance of people doing IEMT knowing how to respond if there are any medical etc issues that occur with clients, do you think there should be a requirement for those trained in IEMT to have a first aid qualification or some sort of medical response training?

I know the association offers some training. For example: dealing with su***de risks.

But should first aid or medical response training be mandatory in order to practice/work with clients?

**********

I am having trouble with my case studies and making them PDFs and submitting them the way you want. I am not very technical. Help?

**********

What do you do on a client consultation? Is it important to do one?

**********

Where can I hold sessions in person? I don't know where to start.

**********

Yes, do you explain the 3-pillars concept to a client cognitively when working on related feelings of fear, guilt and anger?

**********

How do I work with someone who is so anxious that they can't sit still, close their eyes or follow any instruction?

**********

How can I support my friend who is very anxious after a recent colon cancer diagnosis. She already said she has never been that scared before. She has a tendency to catastrophise.
