We can't wait to have THE Nadine Benjamin MBE with us on July 4th ✨

Nadine Benjamin returns to SongEasel to conclude our 2026 summer series with a jubilant programme paying homage to the 250th anniversary of American Independence. Expect Spirituals and classics by the likes of Cole Porter, George Gershwin and Aaron Copland paired with songs by African-American composers, alongside Andre Previn’s Honey & Rue, setting words by Pulitzer Prize winner and Nobel laureate Toni Morrison. This song cycle was described by the Chicago Tribune as moving "across a specifically black, urban, female landscape of experience".

Concert update ✨ We’re thrilled that soprano Theano Papadaki () will now join Jocelyn Freeman, Filippo Turkheimer and Joe Zeitlin for our 23 May recital at St Matthew’s Elephant & Castle.

Theano Papadaki is a Cretan soprano praised for her “immaculate tone” and “seductively beautiful voice”. She is a Rising Star of Voice for the 2026 Edinburgh International Festival, and recently won Best Performance at the 2026 OffWestEnd Awards for her interpretation of Poppea with Hampstead Garden Opera in London.

The programme remains unchanged, and we can’t wait to share this beautiful evening of song with you, weaving together Persian melodies, German Lied, cello improvisation, and new music. If you’d like to buy tickets to see these fantastic artists, head to our bio for the link.

Beautiful sounds from and . We are thrilled to welcome Filippo to our upcoming festival, who has just been named as an Rising Star of Voice. Bravo!

This lovely bit of Schubert will feature in our first ever Song Exchange on 23 May, part of our Sweet Harmony festival. Persian song, German Lieder, cello improvisation, new compositions…a real melding of worlds. Tickets available in our bio!
