Constantly saying “no” is not the way to discipline kids! In fact, this can have several u intended negative effects on their development and your relationship with them.

✅ What to do instead
- Use positive language (“Let’s walk” instead of “Don’t run”)
- Offer choices to give a sense of control
- Redirect behavior constructively
- Reserve a firm “no” (if needed) for serious or dangerous situations

Remember, it is possible to discipline kids without making then feel that you are constantly saying no or discouraging them!

As a parent, your mind is all over the place - you want the best for your child, have a lot of responsibility, and have to take care of your own career, health, and wellbeing. This can get overwhelming!

So how do we deal with it - reducing the number of things to take responsibility for is often not an option. Neither can parents get any more hours in the day. The only way out then is to manage and increase your ENERGY LEVELS.

Some ways to keep your energy high, and therefore your mind calmer are:

➡️ Breathing: Just a few minutes of breathing exercises can create a big shift in your energy. The Art of Living’s Sudarshan Kriya is a powerful practice that you can learn to keep yourself energised and relaxed!
