👀Focus…

🧀 M concentrates while he makes his Mini Tart. The creamy cheesy filling gets his full focus as he stirs and stirs.

🤏🏻The focus then moves on to M’s little fingers as he is mindful of being gentle with the pastry for it not to break.

🌟M’s attention span stretches longer, as he makes sure to sprinkle some Parmesan only over the tart (and not on the table 😉)

👩🏼‍🌾 Beautiful coloured cauliflowers today at the Farmers’ Market

💛 Whole Roasted Cauliflower

Ingredients:

1 whole cauliflower
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 lemon
1 tsp paprika
3-4 tbsp parmesan cheese
3-4 tbsp mayonnaise

Method:

1️⃣Cook the whole cauliflower in a large pot with boiling water for approx. 5min
2️⃣ Meanwhile, mix the butter, olive oil and lemon
3️⃣ Remove the cauliflower, place it on a baking tray. Spread the butter mix all over and season with salt and pepper
4️⃣Roast in the oven at 180C for about 45min or until tender
5️⃣Mix the mayonnaise with parmesan and paprika
6️⃣In the last 5min, spread the mayo mix on the cauliflower and place it back in the oven (grill setting) until golden and bubbling hot!

🍴 Letting children use a knife helps in building concentration and attention. It also enhances hand control and fine motor skills.

👍Children feel proud once they are comfortable using a knife on their own, which helps strengthen self-confidence.

❗️It is important to use “children-friendly” knives so they can practice chopping and slicing safely.

🧑‍🍳Sunday treat…crêpes!

Ingredients
125g flour
300ml milk
20g butter
10g sugar
1 egg
1 pinch salt

Method
1️⃣ Melt the butter until beurre noisette
2️⃣ Mix flour, sugar, salt. Add egg, whisk.
3️⃣ When it comes together slowly add milk
4️⃣ Add the melted butter
5️⃣ Pass the batter through a sieve
6️⃣ Place it in the fridge for about 30min
