Level the Playing Field!
I've been watching the European Football Championship and it struck me how similar football and education is. Like a sloping pitch in football, students from state schools often face an uphill battle with entrance exams for independent schools.
Here's why:
The Uneven Playing Field
Independent prep schools start preparing for exams early, from Year 4, with dedicated sessions. State schools aren't focussed on this, meaning that students are at a disadvantage.
Why 1:1 Private Tutoring Matters
To level the playing field, consider 1:1 private tutoring, especially if you're in Sussex, London, or Surrey where we have experienced tutors with excellent track records for schools in these areas.
Benefits include:
👉 Focused preparation for exam content
👉 Tailored teaching addressing your child's unique needs.
👉 Practice and feedback to improve continuously.
👉 Confidence-building which is essential for exams and interviews.
As a parent, it's easy to feel you can handle this alone. What's really needed is a thorough grasp of the nuanced exam requirements, your child's Year 6 attainment, effective strategies for reasoning questions, and performing well under timed conditions. The good news is, you don't have to navigate this journey alone!
Maximise Summer for Success
Using the summer months for intensive exam prep to boost your child's chances is the smartest thing you could do for your child and the best thing you can do for your stress levels.
