Jumping, climbing, exploring and having fun! 🤸‍♂️💚

Physical activity and play are so important for children and young people. Opportunities to move, take safe risks, and try new challenges help build confidence, improve coordination, develop social skills, and support positive mental wellbeing.

Our Outreach students regularly enjoy activities like trampolining and soft play, where they can burn off energy, challenge themselves, and most importantly, have fun in a supportive environment.

Creativity in action at our Creative Hair & Lashes provision ✨🎀

Our students have been getting intricately creative in a Candy Cane Braids workshop, learning how to install colourful hair ribbons onto our resident mannequins! 💇‍♀️❤️🤍

As part of CHL’s Hairdressing qualification, students explore hair braiding and styling techniques while building confidence, self-esteem, and valuable interpersonal skills through collaborative, hands-on learning.

Watching their creations come together is always a proud moment — and these practical experiences help prepare students for onward study and future careers in the hair and beauty industry 🌟

⚽ Did you know Sporting Chances Group began with football?

Our founder, David Johnson, started SCG after recognising a growing need for young people to have mentors who could build strong relationships and help bridge the gap between non-attendance and education.

Drawing on his experience as a professional footballer, David originally used football as a way to motivate, re-engage and support young people — building confidence, skills and trust one session at a time.

Today, SCG delivers a range of alternative education provisions, but the core approach remains the same: relationships first, meaningful engagement, and personalised support for young people.

Our SC Outreach Programme continues to reflect David's original vision.

🏋️‍♂️ Building confidence, skills and future pathways through fitness.

Our sessions with Sheen Stables Fitness give young people opportunities to develop fitness knowledge, practical gym skills and confidence in a supportive environment.

Alongside health and wellbeing benefits, these sessions can also introduce possible career pathways within the fitness industry — including coaching, personal training and sport-related employment.

A fantastic day out for our team at DerbyFest Ladies Day! ✨💃🎉

It was wonderful to spend the day supporting our friends at NEAT, celebrating andrepresenting .

From great company and plenty of laughs to supporting a fantastic cause, the day was a brilliant reminder of the power of community and coming together to make a difference 💙

🚵‍♂️🌲 A brilliant day out on the trails with Mentor Paul!

Navigating the twists and turns of the Surrey Hills took plenty of teamwork, listening, resilience and determination.

Outdoor activities like this aren't just about cycling — they're opportunities to build confidence, strengthen communication skills and encourage young people to challenge themselves in new environments.

💇‍♀️ JOIN OUR CREATIVE HAIR & LASHES TEAM! 🎉
As our Creative Hair & Lashes provision expands, we are looking to find new members of the team to help support our students across a variety of roles. If you are passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve their best, you're prefect for the job! We are looking for:

1️⃣ Full Time, NVQ 2 qualified Hairdresser to join our alternative education provision and help run our sessions. It would be a bonus if you are qualified in hair extensions or have experience with behaviour management/teaching, but not essential. Work Hours: Monday to Thursdays, 10am-2pm (term time only).

2️⃣ Part Time CHL Mentor with a Certification in Hair Extensions and experience working with young people with SEN. Work hours: Wednesday & Thursday, 10am-2pm.

3️⃣ Part Time 1-to-1 Support Staff, working with vulnerable children with SEN (3 positions are available for this role).

4️⃣ Reliable Bank Staff - flexible, ad-hoc role providing sick cover for the team.
