The children enjoyed a lovely trip to the local park, followed by a visit to the café for some tea as a special treat. We encouraged the children to look at the menus and choose what they would like themselves.

During our time at the café, the children enjoyed looking out of the window and counting how many buses they could see. We then posted a letter to a very special friend and loved looking at the dinosaurs knitted onto the top of the postbox.

It’s always lovely to go on little trips out into our local community, giving the children the opportunity to explore, observe and discover the world around them.

We make sure our childcare setting has a diverse and inclusive range of dolls, representing different cultures, skin tones, hair types and beliefs. 🌍✨

Having dolls that reflect the diversity of the world around us helps children to develop an understanding and appreciation of different cultures from an early age. It encourages inclusion, empathy and acceptance, while also helping children to see themselves and their families represented in their play. 🧸🤎

This morning, the children enjoyed using sparkly, colourful sequins to decorate their CDs. 💿✨

We’ll then hang the decorated CDs on the trees outside in the garden and watch them sparkle in the sunshine, creating beautiful sun catchers and mobiles. ☀️🌈

The children will love watching the reflections, colours and patterns as they move in the sunlight. 💖

✨ New Toys Day! 🪁🧸🧱🧞‍♀️👒🦄

We can’t wait for our Little Gems to see our newly refreshed garden set up today! 💚

There’s nothing more rewarding than watching their little faces light up with excitement as they discover new toys and equipment. Every new resource encourages curiosity, imagination, creativity, and hands-on learning, helping the children build confidence while enjoying new experiences through play.

We know they’re going to have so much fun exploring! 🌈☀️

Today we learned all about the lifecycle of a frog and how a frog develops through its different stages of life. 🐸

The children explored different types of frogs and looked at the variety of colours and patterns they can have. We talked about how some frogs can be poisonous, while others are safe, and discussed where frogs live, including their habitats around ponds, lily pads and leaves.

The children then enjoyed some imaginative play, placing frogs into the water and pretending to launch them onto the lily pads. After this, they got creative by designing and decorating their very own frogs, using a range of materials to bring their ideas to life.

Today we say goodbye to some of our wonderful Little Gems, and we will miss them so much. 🥹

We have loved watching each child grow, develop and flourish throughout their time with us. Seeing their confidence grow, personalities shine and milestones being achieved has been so special. 🌈

To those moving on to their next adventures, we wish you the very best. To those we’ll see again soon, we can’t wait to welcome you back and make more memories together. ❤️

At Little Gems, we always keep our outdoor toys clean, but today we got the children involved too! 🧽🫧

Using soapy water and sponges, the children had great fun washing and cleaning the outdoor toys they use every day. This fun, hands-on activity promoted independence, responsibility and teamwork, while also supporting their physical development, communication skills and understanding of the importance of caring for their environment. 💚

Today, we said goodbye to one of our little mindees, and reading this card had us in floods of tears. 🥹💖

This is so much more than just a job to us – it’s a privilege to be trusted with such an important part of a child’s early years. Watching them grow, learn and flourish is the greatest reward and every child becomes a very special part of our family.

Saying goodbye is never easy, but we’re so grateful for every wonderful child and family who chooses us. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Thank you for trusting us with your little ones. 😭❤️
