Can robotics or physical computing be taught online? 🤖

A parent recently asked me whether I could support their child with electronics/robotics-style projects, and it’s made me really excited about this direction for Trinity STEM Academy.

The answer is yes — especially through beginner-friendly tools like micro:bit.

Students can build practical coding projects at home while being guided online through the coding, logic, testing and debugging.

Projects could include:
💡 mini alarm systems
🎮 reaction timers
🌡️ sensor projects
🚶 step counters
🤖 beginner robotics-style challenges

This is a great way for students to see how coding connects to the real world, while practising inputs, outputs, variables, selection, loops and problem-solving.

Would your child enjoy hands-on coding or robotics-style projects?

What does “Foundation to Higher crossover” actually mean? 📚

These are GCSE Maths topics that often appear around the Grade 4–6 range, so they are really important for students aiming for a secure pass or building towards Higher confidence.

Topics include ratio, algebra, graphs, percentages, probability and problem-solving.

I’m running a free GCSE Maths Grade 4–6 taster this June to help students break down exam-style questions more clearly.

Does your child struggle with Python in GCSE Computer Science?

A lot of students understand the theory but freeze when they have to write code. The key is learning how to break the question down into small steps.

In my free GCSE Python Basics taster, students will learn how to approach a simple coding question using input, variables, if statements and clear logic.

Does your child panic when they see Python? 💻

This is really common in GCSE Computer Science. Many students understand the theory but freeze when they are asked to write code.

In my free GCSE Python Basics taster, we’ll look at how to break a coding question down step by step using input, variables, if statements and clear logic.

Is your child going into Year 10 or Year 11 and stuck around Grade 4/5 in GCSE Maths?

They may not need “harder maths” straight away. They may need clearer methods, more exam-style practice and confidence with crossover topics like ratio, algebra, graphs and percentages.

I’m running a free GCSE Maths Grade 4–6 taster this June to help students break down exam-style questions step by step.

Is your child stuck around Grade 4/5 in GCSE Maths? 📚

A lot of students don’t struggle because they “can’t do maths”. Sometimes they just need clearer methods, more exam-style practice and confidence with topics like ratio, algebra, graphs and percentages.

I’m running a free GCSE Maths Grade 4–6 taster this June for students going into Year 10 or Year 11.

Does your child find maths confidence, exam technique or specific topics harder?

If your child struggles with Maths or Computer Science, it doesn’t mean they’re not capable — sometimes they just need things explained clearly, step by step.

I’m Trinity, a Computer Science graduate and private Maths & Computing tutor, and I’ve launched Trinity STEM Academy to help KS3 and GCSE students build confidence in Maths, Computer Science and Coding.

This June, I’m running free online taster sessions for GCSE Maths and Python.

Trinity Tutoring is becoming Trinity STEM Academy 💡

I’ll still be supporting students with Maths and Computer Science, but the new name reflects a bigger goal: helping young people build confidence in STEM through clear explanations, coding, problem-solving and small-group learning.

This June, I’ll be running free GCSE Maths and Python taster sessions, followed by summer boosters in July/August and weekly groups from September.

Clear Thinking. Future Skills. 🚀
