Did you know that pencils are not made of lead? They are a mixture of clay and graphite which has been fired at a very high temperature! Pencil is so versatile, and often the first medium people use when learning to draw. This is because it is one of the easiest mediums to master, very affordable and highly portable! Discover what the numbers and letters mean, and which pencils are best for which job over on our blog! https://mailchi.mp/artforlife/blog-signup

Join us for a wonderful outdoor art session! Come along and join us for a fun and friendly drawing and painting at West Wickham Allotments, in Hawes Lane. Refreshments will be provided by the allotment committee for a donation to charity. We'll be meeting on Saturday 23rd May, 10am - 12pm or 1.30pm - 3.30pm - Please bring your own drawing and painting materials, a foldable stool or blanket, some water, and a hat if sunny (sunglasses affect the colours, so they aren't as good for painting outdoors). If it's raining we will still go ahead, but of course the session will take place indoors. We can't wait to see you! https://www.artforlife.uk/book/p/plein-air-at-the-allotments
