For the last couple of months I have really had to coach myself and of course with my coaching partner Lauren Valcin because I have had to find a way of changing my mindset.
I have been in the legal field for over 35 years and over the last 9 years since going self-employed, have been trying to move away from it and more recently, over the last 2 years have been concentrating on my life coaching. It’s not been easy!
How do you just leave something you have been doing for so long and launch yourself into something else without suffering the financial consequences?
I was always reluctant to put my cv out there but found the courage this week and did just that. It’s amazing how sought after my skills are. However, I know I don’t want to go back into the extremely stressful caseload I had years gone by. I’m ready for a different path. I realised that because those were my memories of my career, that would be what it would be going forward! I was wrong!
I had to remind myself rhat I was in charge of my destiny in all aspects of my life and discarding so readily all my built up skills in my field was perhaps not the best idea. Just coming to that decision has lifted a load off I have to tell you.
So, I go forward with a different mindset and with clarity about what I want and the terms I want it on.
Life coaching will always be my priority so no change there. What I do in addition is a matter of careful thought and love and compassion for me.
My tip for a change in mindset is to be honest with yourself first and foremost, journal it out, go for a scenic walk and stand back to see what has been revealed. It’s what I tell my clients all the time!
Even coaches need to be coached because things change all the time!
Enjoy your bank holiday guys. Have fun whatever you do!
