*WORLD BOOK DAY* ✨📚

Everybody loved the range of characters that came trooping through our doors for World Book Day and we are very proud of our littles (and their parents!) for the effort put in to some fabulous costumes. The Cat in the Hat, Frederick the Fox, Mary Poppins, Superworm, Bobbie from the Railway Children, Peter Rabbit, Dorothy with Toto, Angelina, Claude, Pippi, Moomin Mama and the Gruffalo among many others…

We were delighted to be supported by Winkworth this year, you may have spotted some of our children’s illustrations proudly displayed in their window.

The benefits of early reading are endless; emotional development, confidence, both cognitive and linguistic progress, vocabulary and improving focus. At Zebedee our children love exploring with Letterland, our synthetic phonics programme which supports kinaesthetic, visual and auditory learners as well as reading and writing, and the testament of its success for our littles is the wonderful array of enthusiastic characters that great us every World Book Day, proudly displaying their favourite reads.

Zebedee has raised £500 for Comic relief. A big thank you to all the parents who supported us!

At Zebedee we are so fortunate to have a wonderful community of families and we had the joy of celebrating some very special women this week with our Mother’s Breakfast. The children enjoyed sitting down with them and (just about) sharing some bowls of berries and some treats 🥐 🧃 followed by some crafts and songs. Happy Mothers Day!

The topic of SCREEN TIME….📺📱

says children under the age of two should have no screen time at all and for children between the ages of 2 and 4 recommends no more than an hour a day. But between Disney’s Frozen running time of 1h 48min, 90% of UK primary schools using ‘educational tech’ and toddlers watching older siblings with phones (nearly a quarter of UK five-to-seven-year-olds own a smartphone, Ofcom research suggests) how and where do parents draw a line?

NATIONAL OUTDOOR CLASSROOM DAY

To say we all hugely enjoyed this would be an understatement. What an amazing day! Everything was done outside in the park today and weren’t we fortunate to have some lovely British sunshine ☀️
The children all learnt about sculptures from around the world and then made their own. In our groups we looked at measuring, weighing, timing of laps and listening to all the things we could hear outside. We had our brilliant .london and classes too and a lovely lunch in the shade. Definitely a day to repeat soon 🌳😍
