What a wonderful first week in EYFS!

We are so incredibly proud of how well our Reception children and our current Nursery children have settled this week.

They have had a wonderful time exploring all the different areas of our setting, making new friends, building confidence and creating lots of special memories along the way.

Our new outdoor stage, A-frame cave and repaired climbing frame have already been a huge hit!

We have seen so much imaginative play, communication, problem-solving, creativity and physical development as the children explore, play and learn together.

From sharing stories and developing new vocabulary, to counting, creating, investigating the world around them and learning to manage those big feelings, it has been wonderful to see our EYFS curriculum come to life through their play.

And while there may have been a few little tears to start with, we are delighted that every child left with a smile.

What a fantastic start to the new school year! We can’t wait to see their confidence grow and their curiosity and love of learning flourish over the coming weeks.

We look forward to welcoming our new nursery children next week.

Table Tennis Club, run by Mrs Smith in the school hall, has been a huge success this year. It has been fantastic to see so many pupils getting involved – even David, our Mental Wellbeing Councillor, has been joining in!

The club has grown in popularity throughout the year. As part of a project with the Alton Regeneration Team, we explored our local community and were each given the exciting opportunity to design our own table tennis bats. They also generously donated an outdoor table tennis table, giving us the chance, including the teachers, to use our personalised bats at playtime and continue practising the skills we have learned during club sessions.

We have all thoroughly enjoyed developing our table tennis skills this year and are looking forward to continuing to improve them during club sessions and at playtimes next academic year.
