Books have transformed my life📚

Because I wasn’t born in the UK, I struggled with reading and writing throughout school and it really impacted my confidence.

My reading habits were terrible. It used to take me 4 months to read one simple book…

But I never gave up on reading even though sometimes I did have thoughts like “I’m terrible at this reading stuff”.

I always wondered how successful people like bill gates could read 50 books a year while it took me a year to finish 1.

Now I have made reading a big part of my life and I am well on my way to reaching bill gates 😉

Here are some books that were crucial on my journey:

Mindfulness: I learned that there are hundreds of ways you can mediate and you don’t have to sit like a monk for it to be meditation. Meditation is not about silencing the mind but about learning how to focus which is something I used to struggle with before.

Rules of wealth: rule 54 “think long term” and 72 “Make your money work for you” are great rules that helped me with a mindset shift on my wealth building journey.

Rich dad poor dad: This was the book that made me think “hold on… actually, I think I am destined to be an entrepreneur!” And so the journey began and now I am here!

Think like a monk: Such an insightful book which helped me form a foundation and idea for my purpose, as at the time when I read this book I felt quite purposeless.

We get so much information all the time that it's easy to lose focus, get into information overload and start overthinking, but here are some quick tips you can do to stop that cycle:

🧠Distract yourself. When you realize you're starting to overthink, finding a distraction can break your thought cycle.

✍🏼Question and write your thoughts.

🪜Plan to take action.

🏆Readjust or clarify your short and long term goals.

✨Work on enhancing your self-esteem.

🧘🏽‍♂️Understand your triggers ( ask yourself: why am I starting to feel like that, how I can act in a different way after…)

Remember everyone goes through the same or similar problems, that's why its good to share the process, journey and story with people around you.📈

We often have the idea that we need to do everything ourselves, and that if we don't do it ourselves, things won't work out.

But that's not the case: most successful people achieve multiple goals at the same time, precisely because they know how to manage and create a group of people with different talents.

Sometimes people will even perform better than us and we will reach our goals faster📈

Don’t be afraid to delegate tasks to an expert in that particular field.

Start by building a strong network full of quality connections, and watch the opportunities flow effortlessly towards you.

A good way to begin is to have someone help YOU to organise YOUR time management, efficiency and goals.

Once you are clear on what you want, you can then start implementing the positive habits and routines needed to get to your desired reality🔑✨

This will make it easier for you to attract like-minded individuals into your life💎

The Eisenhower matrix mentioned by Stephen Covey is great to keep at your desk - so that you can decide on the action needed following intrusive thoughts.

🧠Thought: wow I need to go to the gym…

✍🏼Action: write it down and look at the matrix.

⏰Decision: okay, it needs to be scheduled. ( Make a note to schedule the gym into your diary, after you finish the work you are currently working on ).

After: When the work you are doing is complete, come back to the intrusive thought list and take action on what you noted.

Schedule, delegate, delete or move on to another important and urgent task.

Eisenhower is a great start, but I have created a much simpler framework to help my clients put the concept Into practice - with less confusion and overwhelm📈

If you don't like your current situation, think about your habits and routines.

What do you do with your time, what habits serve the old you? Can you replace them?
Your daily habits shape your life, so choose wisely.

Try to hold yourself accountable, and if this fails, hire an accountability coach.
