It’s a prickly, pineapple play day.

Introducing a different texture during sensory play with a baby 8 months. This kept him stimulated and engaged for a continuous 15-20 mins.

Incorporate made up repetitive songs to promote language and learning.

Home learning is so much fun. The children have been learning about living things, growing and death. Things we all have to learn about but sometimes take for granted.

Teaching children to cultivate, nurture, look after themselves, others and the living thing around in their environment is so important.

Children actually enjoy the responsibility especially when they see the results of the hard work and efforts.

The children were totally obsessed with this little we found (unfortunately already deceased). They have been learning about dinosaurs with me, so one of them was completely convinced it was a pterodactyl dinosaur. He was right for thinking so as it really did resemble one. I love when children make connections and use their imaginations.

The conversations it us to was amazing .

We talked about birds, nestlings, death, extinction and so much more.

and exploration is best 💚

This was with little curious 3-4 year olds out in Richmond Park.

This is what I tell parents all the time. So important to deescalate the situation. We must help children to regulate take control in a supportive way through modelling

How does this make you feel to watching? 💭

All I can do is think of my ancestors, my grandmother. My foundation.

They got me this far and a lot has been modelled on their practices ever since!

It’s very important to be aware of different cultural practices. There are reasons behind them, which you can research. Some are very beneficial when nursing babies.

Why not? …Let’s compare the story of the ‘Three Billy Goats Gruff’ to the deer. We do not usually see them in this part of the park. Maybe they have come because the grass has all been eaten up on the other side of the river?

Use every opportunity for story telling. It helps children to learn and make sense of the world around them.

Great game a lovely 5 year old introduced me to and beat me 3 times!

The joys of being a maternity nurse is you get to appreciate the beauty of new life everyday! How humbling it is to know we were all once this small and still somewhat small in the universe. But yet being surrounded and nurtured with Love, support and Faith we become great 👶🏽🤱🏾👶🏻👩‍🍼👶🏿👨🏾‍🍼👶🏼👨🏼‍🍼🙌🏾❤️
