🔹 *INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAYHI RAJI'UN* 🔹

We often associate these words with hearing that someone has passed away. But *Istirja'* - (as this phrase is known as) is not only for bereavement — it is a beautiful reminder for *every hardship, loss and difficulty* we experience.

Allah describes the believers as those who, when afflicted by any calamity, say:

*“Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.”*
*Surah Al-Baqarah 2:156*

He SWT then tells us:

*“They are the ones who will receive Allah’s blessings and mercy. And it is they who are rightly guided.”*
*Surah Al-Baqarah 2:157*

These words remind us that *we belong to Allah* — as do our loved ones, our health, our wealth and everything we possess. What we have in this dunya is temporary, and ultimately *our return is to Him.*

Saying *Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un* during difficulty helps us return our hearts to Allah, practise *sabr*, and see what has happened within the greater perspective of the akhirah.

It can be said for *any loss, difficulty or misfortune*, great or small — not only when someone passes away.

Sometimes just remembering:

*“I belong to Allah, and to Allah I will return”*
is enough to change how we carry a difficult moment. 🤲🏻💚

May Allah grant us sabr through every difficulty, strengthen our hearts through every trial, and help us remember that we are never alone — He knows what we carry, He hears our duas, and He is nearer to us than we realise.

Ameen. 🤲🏻🌻

During Rabi' al-Awwal, we hear and speak much about our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. One of the most meaningful ways of expressing our love for him is to follow his example, learn his Sunnah and bring it into our daily lives.

The Sunnah is not only about major acts of worship. *It can be found in the smallest parts of our day — smiling, spreading salam, saying Bismillah, using the miswak, helping others, speaking kindly, making wudu before sleeping and showing mercy to people and animals*.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

*“Whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not from me.”*
(Sahih al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

🌿 This Rabi' al-Awwal, choose one Sunnah that may have slipped from your life and make a conscious effort to revive it.

Small actions, practised consistently and with love for the Prophet ﷺ, can transform our everyday routines into acts of worship.

*Which Sunnah will you revive?* 💚

🌙 *A Reminder from the Sunnah*

During the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ, a solar eclipse occurred on the same day that his young son, Ibrahim, passed away. Some people began to associate the eclipse with his death, but the Prophet ﷺ immediately corrected this belief.

He ﷺ said: *“The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse because of the death or life of anyone.”* (Sahih al-Bukhari 1043; Sahih Muslim 915)

This teaches us that eclipses are not bad omens or signs connected to someone's birth or death. Rather, they are among the magnificent signs of Allah's creation—moments that should turn our hearts towards Him in prayer, remembrance and reflection. 🌙☀️🤲🏻
