Don’t be afraid to read older texts / classics to your child. They might be tricky at first but you’d be surprised how quickly children adapt to the language and narrative. Plus; they are amazing for vocabulary ;)

Vocabulary development is huge for reading comprehension. This is a nice little worksheet for KS2 children. Explain the words to your child or use a dictionary with them (great skill to teach!) to find meanings, before you tackle the questions.

Summer holidays 2022 wrapping up! Sad times …. As stressful as it can be juggling work and school holidays, all the snacks and arguments and bank-breaking activities trying to entertain…. One day they will be off with their friends and their new lives and we will miss it sooo much 💝

They will learn so much from being read to in their early years! As they get older shared reading works well also as they build their fluency and expression.
