Are you interested in one-to-one professional coaching but have counted yourself out because of the rumoured costs?
When I started Capital Traits, I set out with the mission to Democratise 'Leadership' Development. One of the ways I am doing that is by democratising the rate.
There's a lot of secrecy surrounding the rates that coaches charge. I've come across some astronomical rates, which is partly why professional coaching is often reserved exclusively for senior business leaders.
Seeing a coach completely changed my life; personally and professionally, so when I launched the business I wanted to make coaching as accessible to as many people as possible.
That's why we have a separate coaching rate for self-funded coaching, which is simply 0.1% of a client's annual salary, per session.
So, if you earn £100,000 pa, then you'll pay £100 per hour. If you earn £25,000 pa, then - that's right - you'll pay £25 per hour.
Structuring the self-funded rate in this way has allowed me to work with people of all backgrounds, incomes and experience levels, which enriches my experience as a coach and ensures I'm staying sharp by getting exposure to a diverse client-base.

That's why for self-funded coaching, I charge my clients 0.01% of their annual salary. So if you earn £25,000 pa, then - that's right - you'll pay £25 per hour. If you earn £100,000 - you're getting it - £100 per hour.

How do you promote an emotionally mature workplace culture?
One way (out of a possible thousand) is to:
STOP investing in internal 'rising stars' and 'future leader' programmes, and START investing in every single person individually from the ground up.
Expect 'leadership' behaviour from everyone, not just a select few, and give them the tools to develop it.

Why should anyone be led by you?
I would have bought this book for the thought-provoking title alone. Luckily the content is just as provocative!
“In our view, there are no universal leadership characteristics. What works for one leader will not work for another. We think that those aspiring to leadership need to discover what it is about themselves that they can mobilise in a leadership context. They need to identify and deploy their own personal leadership assets.”
If I could plagiarise any paragraph to describe why Capital Traits exists, and why I conduct leadership assessments in the way that I do, it would be this one.
If you’re in a position of leadership or aspire to me one, then you would do well to reflect on this question.
