🌿 A morning with my lovely client Kate! 🌿
Today was all about relaxation. It was Kate's choice to draw something meaningful but fun, so Piglet was her muse for our session! 💕
We looked and focused on cartoon imagery. The characteristics of character drawing and the differences between traditional drawing and cartoon work. Kate found that she really enjoys the dark, hard outlines and how each character doesn't have to be presice to be recognisable 🌼

A successful session with one of my lovely clients Kate 🌞
The purpose of learning to make art is so different for everyone. For Kate, it is wellbeing and improving her drawing skills.
We are focusing on portraiture as this is a personal project for her.
After 1 session (looking at a doll's eye) she has shown incredible progression 😁

In my previous post, I mentioned I would be focusing on exposing my own practise. Well, here is part of it...
I don't consider myself (as an artist) to have 1 way of working. I have too many to count! But I would say there are 2 ways that I draw- Realism and Blindly
This is the realism part and it brings customers, families and me so much joy!
This particular piece is available as A3 prints and comes with a choice of frame.

So, this is new.
Hello lovely people 🌻 my name is Charlotte and I am an artist. But mostly, I am a teacher and tutor of art.
I am completely and utterly in love with learning, always have been and always will be!
Art is my passion and ever since leaving school I have predominantly made, studied and (more recently) taught art.

I have a degree in Drawing which I studied @ Falmouth University and, as a graduate, I was a Visiting Lecturer for them, based at home in North Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
In 2020, during lockdown, I made the mad decision to complete a PGCE in Secondary Art. After that very (very) tough year, I decided to jump straight into education and work as a TA at a local high school. 10 months there and it was time to move on. I am now a teacher across many schools and colleges around North Wales, focusing on KS4 students of Art.
I've always wanted to be a tutor. Always wanted to help young people and adults who WANT learn about art and drawing!
But within education (especially in the UK) the narrow minded ways of the curriculum always don't allow for mistakes, they don't always allow for creative freedom and processes. Which is why I am so so passionate about helping people understand who they are creatively and helping them realise that you don't have to be "good" at drawing to be an artist! You can just be in the moment, enjoy it and let go of stereotypes that come with being "successful" in art.

This page is for the soul purpose of exposing my own practise and will be a platform for me to develop my brand new tutoring business 'Creative Tutoring North Wales'
