I get so many enquiries for 1 to 1 tuition but spaces are limited and I find that I often teach the same lesson 4 or 5 times in a week. Those students would work really well together in a group, supporting each other and working together but still getting individual support. Often parents and students want 1 to 1 as they think they have difficulties that others don't have and don't want to work with others as they would be embarrassed if they couldn't answer a question. I have never seen this in a group situation as students are all fully supported and given the same help that they would get in a 1 to 1 session. In fact, they often find it better than 1 to 1 as the pressure is not on them to answer every question, but there are others to share the load. Groups are carefully put together with students studying the same specifications and usually in the same school, sometimes even the same class.
All students who have attended our groups sessions have quickly gained in confidence and have all improved in grades, many moving up to a higher tier paper for GCSE exams.
Our groups are capped at a maximum of 6 so are guaranteed to remain small and supportive. Many groups contain students with ALN and they get the same support that would get in a 1 to 1 lesson.
If you would like to discuss how a small group could help then please get in touch.
