Year 1 have really enjoyed exploring the world from the eyes of a refugee. We thought about what we would bring with us if we needed to leave our home, created our own paper suitcases and even practised our packing skills. We also designed our own posters and invitations and talked about how we would welcome someone new into our community.

Year 6 went to the Cathedral yesterday to take part in a transition workshop and leavers service. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you !
Our workshops and service included an assault course, singing and working in groups to think about how we can manage that transition to high school.

Before Easter, 12 pupils from Year 5 and 6 were invited to the Reach Out Graduation! These pupils had completed a 12 week mentoring programme with the Reach Out Team and had been developing different skills such as fairness, good judgement and self control. During the programme they had worked with adult volunteer mentors who had supported them in academic work and also social activities.
The group have worked really hard and so we were all looking forward to the celebration. We started our afternoon in the Everyman Cafe for a celebratory cake. Hannah even played the piano for the other customers! We then carried on to The University of Liverpool.
We were joined by two other local schools and lots of our children received awards for their commitment and hard work to the sessions.
The sun was shining and on the way back to school, we had a stop off to give out the participation certificates.
It was a really lovely afternoon and the children were wonderful ambassadors for our school, Reach Out and themselves!
