I’m an artist and art teacher who loves transforming the everyday into something new through abstraction and creativity.

In my workshops, I create a calm, friendly space where everyone—no matter their experience—can discover their own artistic voice.

Last month I led 2 workshops with children at the Royal Blind School. Students were trying to represent aspects of there personalities as they manipulated every day materials. Their work will be on display from 24th February at the Everyman Theatre x

What is beauty and do we need sight to experience it?

Art in the EV: Unseen Beauty explores beauty beyond vision, inviting you to experience it through sound, touch, memory, emotion and imagination. A reminder that while beauty is universal, the way we feel it is deeply personal.

Through tactile sculpture, painting, poetry and personal stories, the project celebrates the many ways beauty is perceived and experienced. Rather than defining beauty scientifically, art is used to create space for individuality, emotion and dialogue, bringing together visually impaired children, sighted artists, scientists, educators and writers in a shared process of co-creation.

Born from collaboration between Liverpool-based partners: researchers in Psychology: Dr Irene Senna (Liverpool Hope University), Dr Magdalena Sliwinska (Liverpool John Moores University) and Dr Valeria Occelli (Edge Hill University).

Alongside dot-art, with artists Joseph Venning and Anna Gaston, blind and visually impaired participants involved in workshops and art creation, The Royal School for the Blind, Bradbury Fields and writer Mandy Redvers-Rowe.

Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, with additional financial support from Liverpool Hope University, Liverpool John Moores University, and Edge Hill University.

The exhibition opens on the 26th of February and is located on the first floor of Everyman, Hope Street. Please see the opening times above.

Sip and Paint at Clever Hands Creative Workshops was a big success last night. Thank you so much to everyone who came. It was amazing to see so many women getting creative again, even those who hadn’t touched a paintbrush since school days. There are still slots for our class in July. Book soon to not miss out! https://cleverhands.shop/products/sip-and-paint
