An absolute pleasure to host the phenomenonal Jacob Couch at the academy this week, getting some work in ahead of his title match at Grapplefest on Saturday.

When athletes of that calibre step on the mats, it sharpens everyone in the room.

Huge appreciation as well Brandon Reed, David Gibbons and the team for making the trip and adding to a quality session last night.

This is exactly what we want Evolve to be — a room where standards are high, work ethic is respected, and everyone improves together.

Stepping up to a new belt level is never easy, and all three showed real composure, determination and heart on the mats today. We're proud of the way they represented the academy.

Matt has been a pillar of the team—not just through his 11 years of dedication to Jiu Jitsu, but also through his lifelong commitment to martial arts. Since joining Evolve full time in 2022 from another of Lucio affiliates, Matt has made a massive contribution to our academy, coaching not only BJJ but also Thai and MMA, and even running Hope Hippo's voluntary a free BJJ club for the students of Hope University.

We're all super proud of him and this achievement is nothing less than he deserves for his unwavering commitment and leadership. Well done, Matt! 👊🔥
