For grade 3 - you are recommended to do at least 36 half hour lessons with a teacher. Practice should 2 hours and 20 minutes a week. If you or your child are not putting the work in at home you are looking at the length of grade 3 becoming a very long process and this will get very boring very quickly. Put the work in and get the results you want.

The recommendation for practice for Grade 2 is at least 36 half hour lessons with a teacher, over the 36 weeks of lessons there should be at least 2 hours practice a week. 20 minutes a day in between lessons would help you or your child progress accordingly and enjoy learning their chosen instrument. This level of practice would stop the boredom and adding on a significant amount of lessons to the grade. 🎼

Did you know the recommended practice for each grade varies? For grade 1 the recommendation is at least 24 half hour lessons with a teacher and in them 24 weeks you should be doing around 2 hours practice every week. If the practice is not being done this could add on up to an extra 18 months to the exam process. Which causes boredom and tends to increase the chances of not completing the exam and leaving the lessons. Start off with a good structure and work on playing in between lessons, 20 minutes a day would make the experience in learning the grade 1 requirements much easier 🎼
