Stephanie McVey Violin Freelance violinist and peripatetic music tutor She has performed for weddings/events/conferences, and in pit bands.

Stephanie currently works part time as Orchestra Assistant with Aurora Orchestra, while also working as a freelance violinist and peripatetic music tutor. There, she performed with Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Liverpool University Symphony Orchestra, Liverpool University

Chamber Orchestra, and The Glas Quartet. Stephanie currently plays in Salomon Orchestra, and Covent Garden Chamber Orchestra, as well as various one-time projects. Stephanie's enthusiasm for music developed during her education, leading her to understand the importance of providing this to others. Most of all, she enjoys finding new and creative ways to help young people in achieving their full potential, whilst improving their well-being. For two years, she volunteered with Liverpool Philharmonic’s ‘In Harmony Liverpool’ project, which is inspired by the El-Sistema movement in Venezuela. Whilst a member of the Liverpool University Chamber Orchestra, she played a crucial part in the touring of schools in North-West England, with the overall aim to inspire young people to get involved with music. Growing up with a younger brother who has severe learning difficulties gave her first hand experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs. Stephanie has taught violin and music theory on a peripatetic bases for three years, and prides herself in providing high quality, engaging and well-planned violin and music theory tuition. She is patient, friendly, and has an evident enthusiasm for teaching. She accommodates for her pupil's needs with ease, whether it be to work towards an examination, or to play for enjoyment. Stephanie is currently teaching in London Zones 1-3.

Still time to plan to come and see Aurora Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall in the BBC proms tomorrow afternoon. Tickets available 2 1/2 hours before on the door for £6. Can also book specific seats in advance if you pay a little more! Going to be a good one! 😀 I will be backstage having warm fuzzy feelings about my time with Aurora Orchestra, especially as I'll be moving on from my Orchestra Assistant role at the end of August ❤️ Would totally recommend coming along tomorrow!

Louis, a recent Music Theory Grade 5 Student:

"Steph is a fantastic teacher, who gave me a lot of confidence in tackling Grade 5 theory. She’s very friendly and approachable and her knowledge is huge. I started at Grade 1 level and felt I improved rapidly with her, through well-structured lessons and her ability to make the complex, understandable. Thank you!"
