Last week, our Managing Director, Lisa Johnson, was honoured to be invited by Liverpool Chamber of Commerce CIC to represent SquareOne Training as part of a select business delegation travelling to the Isle of Man for the Liverpool–Isle of Man Strategic Partnership.

Bringing together senior leaders from business, education, innovation and government, the visit explored how stronger partnerships can help drive innovation, economic growth and future opportunities across both regions.

Throughout the day's expert panel discussions and conversations, one message stood out: while AI, digital transformation and innovation are shaping the future, none of those ambitions become reality without investing in people and developing the right skills.

A huge thank you to Liverpool Chamber and the Isle of Man Department for Enterprise for the invitation and for hosting such an inspiring visit.

💙 This week we're saying a sad goodbye to one of our team, Rebekah Henderson, after four wonderful years with us at SquareOne Training.

Joining us in 2022 as a Funding Programme Administrator, Rebekah soon stepped into a new role, becoming a key part of our day-to-day operations and a friendly, familiar face to learners, trainers and colleagues.

Watching people grow and develop is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do, and we're incredibly proud of everything Rebekah has achieved during her time with us.

Thank you for everything you've brought to the team, Rebekah. We wish you every success in your next chapter. 👏🧡

💙 A reminder of why we do what we do.

This week, our Managing Director, Lisa Johnson, swapped her director hat for a trainer one as she delivered an Excel Intermediate: Build Better Reports course at our Liverpool training centre.

Whilst Lisa now spends most of her time leading SquareOne Training, delivering training remains one of her favourite parts of the job.

Getting back into the classroom was a welcome reminder of where it all started – a passion for helping people develop their skills and confidence.

More than 30 years after SquareOne Training was founded, the classroom remains at the heart of what we do.

Once again, it was a pleasure to support Wirral Grammar School for Boys with their Year 10 mock interviews, with David Andrews and Daniel McGinley helping students prepare for their future careers.

As a former Wirral Grammar student himself, David commented: “It was great to be back at my old secondary school and help support with mock interviews and careers discussions. We met some really impressive students and it was brilliant to see how enthusiastic everyone was! It’s always great to see the work Simone Wilson and the careers team are doing to provide students with opportunities like this.”
