This week, we are recognising Children's Mental Health Week — a national awareness week dedicated to highlighting the importance of children and young people’s mental health and emotional wellbeing. 💛

The week encourages children, families, and schools to have open conversations about feelings, wellbeing, and the support we can give one another. This year’s theme, *Taking Action*, focuses on empowering young people to make positive changes for themselves and others, reminding us that even small actions can make a big difference.

In Year 5, the children have been exploring what mental health means, discussing ways to look after their wellbeing, and creating blogs to share their thoughts and ideas. Their work has shown empathy, creativity, and a real understanding of how we can support one another every day.

We’re looking forward to sharing their finished blogs next week — stay tuned! 🌟

🚀💻 Another exciting afternoon at Code Cadets!

Our young coders had a fantastic time exploring Scratch today — changing backgrounds, adding different sprites, and bringing their projects to life with fun sounds and animations! 🎨🎵🕹️

There was plenty of creativity, teamwork, laughter… and definitely LOTS of noise! 😄

We love seeing the children grow in confidence while learning coding skills through play and imagination. Well done, Code Cadets! 👏✨

Some of our children had a wonderful time today at cookery! They made pasta and salad🥗 using fresh ingredients and tasting different types of fruit🍎. The children also leant about portion size, George said, “I really loved cookery today and I have learnt lots of new things.” A huge thanks to Becca from Liv Life and Claire from Beautiful New Beginnings for hosting❤️

The D.A.D.D.R. course delivered by LLSP was attended by the year 4, 5 and 6 children this morning. It was a structured self-defense program that emphasised key safety principles. The acronym D.A.D.D.R. stands for Detect, Avoidance, Defuse, Defence, and Respect. The course focused on teaching children how to recognize potential dangers, avoid risky situations, de-escalate conflicts, defend themselves if necessary, and maintain respectful behaviour. The aim was to empower children with practical skills and awareness to keep themselves safe in various situations. Well done to all the children who took part, they engaged well and showed respect.
