🦭 Help Improve Grey Seal Welfare!!
Do you love animals? Whether you're a zoo professional, researcher, student, or simply someone with an interest in marine life, we'd love to hear from you! We are conducting a Grey Seal Body Condition Scoring (BCS) Questionnaire as part of a collaborative project between Manchester Metropolitan University, British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) and SEA LIFE Trust.
📊Who can take part?
Anyone aged 18 years or over can participate. We are interested in hearing from people with a wide range of experience, from pinniped experts to members of the public, to help us develop a robust and reliable scoring system.
📋 What's involved?
A 15-minute questionnaire where you'll score a series of Grey seal images and answer a few short questions about your experience with seals.
💙 Why take part?
There is currently no standardised BCS for Grey seals. Your responses will help us identify key visual indicators and body landmarks needed to develop an evidence-based BCS tool, supporting improved husbandry and welfare assessment, rehabilitation, conservation and much more!.
