A new addition to the King's Wavertree uniform this year.

Inspired by our Great Schools Trust visit to Eaton College and the work they did to recognise their rowing teams.

Our normal school ties are black, but we’ve had a small number of these maroon King’s ties made.

They’ll be given to pupils who represent the school in a sporting fixture or competition. Our new Year 8 pupils who represented King’s in football and netball last year will be the first to receive them, and other pupils will earn theirs as they represent the school throughout this year.

We want to celebrate pupils who train and go on to represent the Academy, and give them something they can wear with a bit of pride afterwards.

A nice little tradition to start as the school grows.

🏎️ Could karting become part of the King’s Wavertree & Great Schools Trust experience?

We spent some time at TeamSport Karting Liverpool today and couldn’t resist asking the team whether there might be opportunities for our pupils to get involved in the future.

We’re always looking for exciting experiences that develop confidence, character and leadership, whether through our Wednesday electives, after-school activities or wider enrichment programme.

Nothing agreed yet, but conversations have started!

One of the best parts of building a new school is being able to explore opportunities like this across our city and ask: could our pupils benefit from this?

🏅 A new tradition begins on Monday!

Next week, our pupils will take part in a very special moment in our young school's history: our Badge Ceremony.

The ceremony marks their graduation from our New Starter Induction and the moment they receive the badge representing their community - Aristotle, Curie, Da Vinci, Hypatia, Locke, Newton or Seacole.

They may be small, but these badges represent something much bigger. 💙💚💜💛❤️🩵🧡

As a new school, we are creating traditions that we hope will last for generations. Every ceremony, photograph, badge and shared story becomes another part of our history.

Years from now, future pupils will receive these same badges and join communities whose stories and traditions have been shaped by the pupils who came before them.

That makes this year's ceremony particularly special.

Our pupils aren't simply taking part in our school's history - they are helping to write its very first chapters.

We can't wait to celebrate with them on Monday. 🎉

Wednesday afternoons at King’s look a little different. Our Electives programme gives pupils opportunities including swimming, Combined Cadet Force, football, French, chess and first aid.
And where a pupil isn’t yet at 100%, we use that time to help them catch up too. Opportunity and high expectations, side by side.
