Feel burnt out 🔥, fatigued zzz 💤 in or sore 🤕?
This can indicate a number of things:
1️⃣ are you getting enough rest/sleep?
Recovery plays s huge part in health and fitness. When we sleep our muscles repair and replenish, so if we not getting enough sleep this can have a knock effect. Aim for 8 hours were possible.
2️⃣ intensity of training:
I’ve been guilty of it myself. Training flat out every single day working to my maximum capacity. We have to listen to our bodies. It’s totally fine to scale back your training. Say you done a heavy lift day and feel sore, it’s sensible to hit the rower/bike/ski the next as a recovery session.
3️⃣ technique:
Can you be sure your are executing lifts properly? Before increasing weight/reps/sets etc, be certain that your technique is correct. Failure to do this can result in strains/pulls.
4️⃣ fuel:
After workouts are you eating properly? The muscles have just been worked hard and need the right nutrients to recover. Your meals after training should be high in carbs.
5️⃣ menstrual cycle:
This can have a huge effect on training, and it’s important to listen to your body. Take some days off if you need to.
What i’m saying is if you wake up of a morning and your ‘not feeling it’ don’t force it. As a species we’re great a adapting, so use your knowledge and change the session to enable you to get the best out of it.
