🎯 Developing new skills. Taking the next step.

Yesterday was another step forward in my shooting journey as I took part in a CPSA English Sporting Referee Course, held at West Kent Shooting School and delivered by Steven Williams.

A great opportunity to deepen my understanding of the rules, responsibilities and, most importantly, the role of a referee on the ground.

A huge thank you to Steven Williams for the professionalism, knowledge and patience throughout the course, and for making the learning process both informative and enjoyable. And of course… the sense of humour definitely helped! 😄

For Elite Shooting UK, continuous development is a big part of what we do. Whether it’s improving shooting technique, developing coaching skills or understanding the sport from a referee’s perspective, there is always something new to learn.

Honest question for parents…

When did your teenager last do something that genuinely challenged them? Something where they had to concentrate, stay calm under pressure, and deal with the result good or bad?

We’ve been running clay pigeon experiences for a while now, and one thing never changes: the look on a young person’s face after they hit their first clay. It’s not just excitement. It’s realisation. “I can actually do this.”

It sounds small, but it isn’t. That kind of moment where they have to control their nerves, stay focused, and back themselves carries into everything else. School. Sport. Life.

We work with complete beginners all the time, and we love working with young people especially. There’s no experience needed, no special kit, nothing to prepare. Just turn up and give it a go.

If you’ve got a young person who’s curious, bored of the usual, or just needs a day that’s genuinely different message us and we’ll have a chat. No hard sell, promise. 😊
