That's it, Daly Childcare has closed the door for the last time. A huge thank you to all the wonderful families who trusted me with their children and shared this fabulous adventure of the last 5 years with us.
Thank you to all the inspiring, nurturing Childminders on the Wirral who welcomed, encouraged, guided and included me in awesome crafts, day outs, messy play, puddle splashing, late evening CPD after silly long days, and our great staffroom chats 😜. Its been such a nurturing community to be part of.
🥂 to new adventures x

After last week's exploration of rescuing 🐧 penguins trapped in ice from the freezer, and creating our own fake snow to play in. Today was joyous playing in real snow, snowballs and the beauty of trees dusted in snow. We collected snow from the garden let the penguins explore then painted it, and the penguins so then they needed a bath 😊☃️❄.

Last week done and we close for half-term.
Prepping their own pizza, ripping packaging to make our autumn 🍂 tree, gluing the fallen leaves we collected. Dodging the rain, puddle splashing and pumpkin 🎃 picking. We saw, white, orange, yellow and green pumpkins 🎃, smooth ones, lumpy bumpy ones, muddy ones, squashed ones, huge ones and small 🎃 pumpkins. Then purchasing them in the farm shop. We opened and explored one, mushy pulp and hard seeds. Successful experiments, pulp castle 🏰 and pumpkin seed shakers.

The girls were so quiet and respectful creeping out to watch the squirrel that visited our garden this evening. I love watching their friendships and listening to their stage whisper descriptions of what Mr Squirrel was up to. He took seeds from the sunflowers 🌻.

This week our caterpillars arrived. We have begun learning life cycles. This has inspired fabulous colourful craft. Taking inspiration from the Practicing colour mixing paint, discussing shades of green and how to make darker or lighter. Fine motor peeling and sticking googly eyes and shapes, scrunching tissue paper and getting sticky with glue. Threading pipe cleaners through straws to make Wiggly caterpillars on leaves. Frequently checking on the caterpillars and being impressed they are already growing.

A glorious day at Chester Zoo. We spotted animals big and small. Matched faeces to the animal at an education challenge for animals we may see in the countryside. We were blessed to see 🦁 lions eating, the 🐅 🐯 tiger, sleeping aardvark, tiny mice and frogs 🐸. Observe a sonograph of bird song. See 🐧 penguins, they are flightless birds.
Today my proudest moment, was the fabulous language and support I observed.
Child 1, I really want to see the bats 🦇
Child 2, I get nervous in there I don't want to.
Child 1, Please I really want to go, you can be brave I'll hold your hand you can do this.
Child 2, OK but I'm not sure.
We walked through the bat house.
Child 2 I did it I was brave
Child 1, You were so brave I'm really proud of you, let's do something you like
🥰🥰🥰
The friendship and kindness I have seen develop is just gorgeous.
Such a privilege to nurture.

A great week, playing in snow, visiting the farm, starting to make a robot costume, and beginning to learn about Chinese Luna New Year of the Rabbit 🐇. Colour mixing, scissors and creative design, fine motor work with chopsticks and noodles 🍜 we collected and added snow as it's nice to play with snow in the warm 🤣.
