Robert Ellison Painter I paint for the challenge and joy of being able to express myself through saying something about my environment.
Blending realism and abstraction, I strive with oil or acrylic, knife and brush to convey my excitement and interest in the subject with bold and often contrasting marks, colours and textures. This is a recently completed oil measuring 122 x 91.5 cm. The palette is relatively limited and a little unusual for me but I thoroughly enjoyed painting the work.
