An inspiring follow-up to our Year 10 Day of Service!

A massive thank you to Alderman Amanda Grehan, Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council for hosting and meeting with some of our pupils. It was a privilege to hear about her role and the incredible work she has done in championing Action Cancer and promoting disability inclusivity within our community. Pupils also had the opportunity to share with the Mayor about their volunteering experiences and what they gained from it.

Congratulations to Annabel on winning the Junior International Tetrathlon Championship in Warwickshire recently. Competing against the strongest tetrathletes from across the UK and Ireland, Annabel ran, swam, shot and rode her way to victory. This is an amazing achievement as it has never been won before by a Northern Irish competitor.

Following their recent success in the First Tech Challenge’s UK Championship National Finals, our winning Y14 Robotics team “Software Therapy” have recently been interviewed by the BBC!

Check out the video here: https://fb.watch/HnSDQYvy4w/ or https://x.com/bbcnewsline/status/2059718608410865788

They were also featured in the Belfast telegraph earlier in the year (even if they did get the photo mixed up!) : https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/lisburn-pupils-crowned-uk-robotic-champs-after-competition-win-in-london/a/150460362.html

We continue to be very proud of our Robotics teams, and the effort each pupil puts into their team, whilst still maintaining focus on their schoolwork.
It’s been a privilege to help facilitate the running of this extra-curricular club.
