This week our current children and staff have been creating their tiles to be part of our Centenary Celebration Walk…. These tiles will be displayed in our main school corridor to become a permanent part of the school building.

On Friday we will invite past staff and pupil to create a tile of their own to become part of this feature.

We are conscious that many ex pupils and staff may not be able to visit this Friday, so we will keep the preparation for the project going for the rest of the term for anyone to call in at a convenient time to make a tile…. Or, if you’re not local, we’d love it if you could get hold of a 15cm x 15cm white ceramic tile, add a portrait, your name, and the year you were visit part of Linton life (acrylic pens work well), and send it to us at school.

We’d love to get as many contributions as possible to this project.

What a day!!!!!

As part of our centenary celebrations this week, we went back in time for a glimpse of life would’ve been like in Linton in the past, with a whole school visit to Beamish Museum.

I honestly couldn’t be prouder of our children, who behaved beautifully and relished the opportunity, or more in awe of and grateful for our staff!

We have lots of photos to share once we have checked permissions etc, but here’s a few of Jolie (our school Dog Mentor), who loved every minute too!

We can’t wait for Friday!

The cake is ordered, and we are currently gathering artefacts for our Centenary Celebration, and have been overjoyed to see some of the photographs ex pupils have contacted us to share.

If you have any items you think would be of interest to others at the event, please do get in touch.

We cannot wait to meet some ex pupils, hear their stories, and show them around our school.

With building work about to start this term, we’re hoping for a real celebration of Linton Primary ‘Past, Present and Future’ .

Autism Awareness is a massive part of who we are and what we do at our school… from how we teach, to how each classroom is set up, from how we choose our staff, to what we serve in the kitchen… and everything in between.
So many of our children are diagnosed or awaiting diagnosis, and today we celebrate them.
In a world where acceptance and understanding is often not forthcoming, we hope our school gives them somewhere they can feel safe to just be who they are. X
