📣 🎂 HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! 🎈 TINGERS is 4 TODAY !! 🥳
Tingers has gone from strength to strength over this last four years, and we couldn’t have done it without the dedication of the amazing team and the support from all the families who choose us !! 🩵🩵
🥰 A huge thank you to everyone, let’s see what the next 4 years brings 😊🩵

The children have loved doing a range of different Easter themed activities the last few weeks in the lead up to Easter, including a big group Easter egg hunt to search for little eggs inside, under and on top of things🐇🥚🪹
They explored an Easter themed messy play tray, filled with colourful noodles, rice, tissue paper and other craft bits. We learnt about the different textures, discussing what felt soft, hard, wet etc🌸🎀
We’ve been doing some Easter crafts, making bunny masks and Easter decorations, working on their tripod grips as they used pens to mark-make. We had conversations about new life around this time of year, expanding their knowledge on the life cycles of chickens, ducks and rabbits🐇🐣🦆
During group times, we have been reading some Easter stories, learning how Easter celebrations began. The children have been able to recall parts of the Easter story, using key words such as Jesus, cross and reborn📚
All the children have made their own chocolate Easter nest cakes, where they helped to mix the ingredients and measure out how much we needed. We counted how many scoops of mixture we needed to fill up each cake case. We spoke about bird nests and how they use them to keep their eggs safe🪺
Thank you for our lovely Easter gifts and we hope you all have a lovely Easter weekend!!💙

Our first little chick is wriggling about this morning!!! 🐣
The children are so excited, watching the eggs begin to move about. Hopefully not too long until they start to crack through🐥
Take your guesses in the comments for when we will meet our first little chick🐤

Over the last few weeks, the children have been exploring different science activities, expanding their knowledge and understanding of scientific words and their meanings🥼
We used bicarbonate of soda, white vinegar and food colouring to experiment with chemical reactions, understanding that it is creating carbon dioxide when they are mixed together. The children loved watching the colours fizz up when the bicarbonate met the vinegar🧪
We learnt about water reactive LED lights, using colourful stars. When the children placed the stars into the water they lit up into an array of beautiful colours but when removed they switched off. We learnt words such as submersion and mechanical whilst discussing how they worked✨
The children have really enjoyed experimenting with the plasma ball, watching the electricity follow their fingers as they move them around. We spoke about the plasma lines that followed their fingers being little paths of energy, using words like electrode and particles to enhance their knowledge🔮

🐣Our chicks have arrived🐣
Over the next few days, the children will be watching our eggs hatch, learning about the cycle of life. We will be learning how to care properly for the chicks by feeding them, giving water to and cleaning their home each day, with help from the children. 🐥
Thank you to Living Eggs for giving us the opportunity to share this experience with the children🐤

📚The children chose their favourite books to bring in from home to celebrate world book day. They were able to recall parts of the stories from our tuff trays including “The Gruffalo”, “We’re going on a Bear Hunt” and “Owl Babies”.
🌸We collected lots of flowers and used the petals to mix with water, paint and glitter to make lots of different potions. The children used tweezers to pick up the petals and pipettes to squeeze out their mixtures, using and developing their fine motor skills.
💜To celebrate Mother’s Day the children created pictures of their mummies using picture frames. We discussed with each other the different hair colour, eye colour etc, that our mummies have and replicated this with our images, learning that all families are individual and unique!

We have been enjoying our slide out in the garden in the lovely weather! We are learning how to safely climb the steps using alternate feet so we don’t slip, helping to develop our gross motor skills. The slide is also helping with our turn taking skills as we wait for our friends to have their go! 🛝☀️🥰
The children have also been learning about how to keep our teeth healthy and clean so that we don’t get toothache and our teeth don’t fall out! We have been practising cleaning the toy teeth with a toothbrush and toothpaste as well as learning about dentists and the tools they use such as a mirror and face masks. 🦷🪥😷
We have had fun scooping and pouring the sand in our sand trays. The children have been using funnels and sieves to catch and pour the sand, helping to develop their fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. We’ve also used different shapes moulds to make different shapes and animals out of sand! 🏖️🦀🪣
