We have all been getting into the Halloween 🎃 spirit over the last week at Walnut Tree School 🌳
Class groups went Pumpkin picking at Ringers Lane pumpkin patch, thank you to the lovely couple that run this for letting us visit and feel welcome.
The children have enjoyed lots of spooky activities…..

🎃 Pumpkin carving
👻 Halloween biscuit making in our fantastic food tech room.
It has been a very busy week 📚 🖊️

Not great weather today, but yet another fantastic week at Walnut Tree School, finished off with rewards afternoon. Our pupils really enjoy the mix of reward activities to finish the week, which this week included a visit from a few of the Site Managers bikes. Well done everyone, have a great weekend with your families, and see you next week.

✏️ 📚 Walnut Tree School update 📚 ✏️

The site is coming along nicely, and lots of work has been done by the site team, and various contractors to ensure everything is safe and secure for staff and pupils, and our outdoor spaces for our Farm School, Horticulture area, and Outdoor Education centre are ready to go.

We have been swamped with enquiries from people wanting to work with us, and also from parents looking for the perfect school for their children. We’re delighted at the response, even if it has been slightly frustrating that we can’t start the admissions process just yet. We have just about finished the recruitment process, and given the high quality of applicants, we faced some extremely difficult decisions. We feel we will have an extremely good team in place, ready to start at Walnut Tree School in September. The staff team will be added to the website over the coming weeks.
We are awaiting full planning permission, having submitted our pre-application several months ago, which was positive.
We have had plenty of support from neighbours, parents of prospective pupils, members of the community and educational professionals that understand the massive need for the school and provision we are offering.

We are also shortly due our DfE inspection, having submitted all of the required information and documents and being accepted, we’re very confident that Ofsted will like what they see when they join us.

Our Governing body is in place, and we are really pleased with the experience they bring to the table, and know that they will provide the challenge required to ensure pupils are getting the very best experience, and more importantly, the experience they deserve. We are so excited to give our fenland children a school that is desperately needed. ❤️

This week saw the deadline for teacher applications, and we’re so pleased to receive so many high quality applications. We’ve also had an influx of applications for our other roles, and will look to shortlist next week.
