Slowing down coaching may seem counterintuitive, but it’s often the quickest way to build real confidence in boxing. Taking time to master the basics—stance, footwork, timing—creates a strong base that supports faster progress over time. When your fundamentals feel solid, every punch lands cleaner and every movement feels more sure.

What do juniors gain from structured coaching beyond fitness? More than punches or calories burned. At BodhiBox, coaching for under 16s builds confidence, discipline, and technical skill in a safe, supportive space. It helps kids grow resilience, self-belief, and a real love for the sport.
Fitness is the starting point. Coaching builds focus, mental toughness, and a growth mindset. It teaches young boxers how to meet challenges with calm and determination. Those skills support them at school, with friends, and in everyday life.
Our junior programmes give each child personal attention so they can progress at their own pace. Coaches guide technique and conditioning, while keeping the focus on respect and teamwork. The result? Juniors improve physically and feel part of a supportive community.
Structured coaching helps young people grow in body, mind, and character. It sets them up for success inside and outside the ring.

What should a good warm-up do before boxing, beyond filling time?
A good warm-up prepares your body to work, lowers injury risk, and gets your mind ready for the rounds ahead.
At BodhiBox, we use movement that raises heart rate step by step, wakes up key muscle groups, and sharpens focus. That can include mobility drills, light shadowboxing, and steady breathing to centre your mind.
A warm-up should match the session and target the muscles and movements you’ll use most. If today is footwork, warm up your calves, ankles, and core.
Skipping this step means missing better performance and more resilience.

Small mistakes in class can feel awkward. The good news: most are easy to fix.
A few to watch for:
- Arriving late
- Copying too fast
- Holding your breath
- Skipping questions
Ask, adjust, keep going. That’s how confidence grows.
