Looking to the future! 💙✨

Yesterday, we came together for our AGM to celebrate 30 years of Services for Independent Living, reflect on how far we’ve come and, were we are heading.💪

As our Chair, Nick, highlighted while so much has changed over the last three decades, our purpose remains the same: Independent Living.🏡✨

Looking ahead, SIL has three key ambitions: to remain focused on the people we support, to continue being a place where our employees can grow, develop and flourish, and to bring independent living to even more people.💙

There is still so much to look forward to, and we’re excited for what the next chapter holds. 💫

As we get closer to our 30th anniversary AGM, today we’re celebrating SIL as it is today. The people, the relationships and the work that continues to make a difference every single day. 💙

30 years on, our purpose remains at the heart of everything we do: Independent Living. Supporting people to live independently, with dignity, choice and confidence. 🏡💫

Today, SIL is made up of over 140 incredible people, all working together to support the people at the heart of what we do. 🫂

Over the last year, our Independent Living at Home and Homecare services have supported more than 80 people each week, while our team has also managed 385 direct payments every week, all helping to make independent living possible. 💙

And that’s what we celebrate today. The people who make up SIL, the people we support, the relationships we build and the shared belief that everyone should have the opportunity to live independently.✨

With our AGM just around the corner, and this year marking 30 years of Services for Independent Living, we’re taking the opportunity to look back at where it all began and celebrate the journey that has brought us to where we are today. 💙

30 years of supporting people to live independently in their own homes and communities.🏡

30 years of championing choice, control, dignity and independence.📣

30 years of working alongside disabled and older people, listening to what matters to them and supporting them to live life on their own terms.💪

30 years of people making a difference, from the support workers and office teams to our trustees, volunteers, and most importantly, the people we support.🫂

Over those 30 years, so much has changed. Services have evolved, the world around us has changed and SIL itself has grown. But the reason we exist remains exactly the same: to support people to live independently.💙💫

So, as we count down to our very special 30th anniversary AGM, we look back at where we’ve come from, where we are today and where we’re going next.💫

Because 30 years is a milestone worth celebrating.

And this is only the beginning...

Our SIL family member Susan is enjoying some homemade treats, with a helping hand from our wonderful ILH team.

Our ILH service is all about helping people enjoy the things that matter to them, from everyday activities to the hobbies they love. For Susan, that means being able to enjoy moments like these, with the right support there when she needs it. ✨

We love what we do, and seeing the smiles on the faces of the people we support makes it all worthwhile. 💙
