What a beautiful Craft to try with the little ones...
Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night, and exploring the night sky, light and dark, and the changing of the seasons.

Nothing better than coming in from playing in the frost, taking off all those layers, and sitting down to a nice warm drink. ☕
❄️TOP TIPS❄️🌡️
❄️Double gloves really help. 🧤 Woollen finger gloves inside water proof mittens helped them explore for longer.
❄️Also a nappy sack 🧦🛍️🧦over sock with another sock over top, really helps keep the cold out when wearing unlined wellies.

What a great way to capture textures and features of the local environment. Today we used this technique to go on a letter hunt.
We used playdough pressed down, capturing the imprint, then placed on an ink pad and then on to the paper to print.

Pumpkin Soup! With no pipkin of salt in sight....
From reading the list of ingredients to counting out the amounts, chopping, peeling, mixing and frying the vegetables. Discovering the inside of the pumpkin, and which part we were to eat, and labeling each part.
Enjoying the sound of the mixer as it pulverised our vegetables to create the soup.
A lovely shared experience and like the story we worked together, unlike the story there were no arguments. 😁
And we actually all agreed it tasted really nice. 😋

They look a little deeper into the relationship between nature and our health and wellbeing. They also discuss Professor Kathy Willis' thoughts on how society interacts with nature. These insights go beyond the science to explore the bigger picture of our relationship with the natural world. Plus, they discuss what we can be doing to help the natural world in return for helping us.
Working in early years is where it all begins, and giving children opportunities to play outdoors is one of my greatest passions, and in a small way, I hope adds to their own future perspective on the health and wellbeing benefits of being outdoors.
