We’re excited to be part of bringing music-making and singing to the Leiston community 🎶

Designed for babies and toddlers aged 0–3, our free, friendly music groups take place on Monday mornings at Leiston Primary School EAST Library.

Join us for a fun, welcoming session where your little ones can discover the joy of music through singing, play and exploration!

We’re delighted to welcome Sound Beginnings to our school library – a FREE, fun, friendly music group for babies, toddlers and their parents/carers aged 0–3. 🥰

As part of our Under the Same Spotlight programme, we’re delighted to offer discounted tickets for two family theatre trips to Snape Maltings this autumn🍂

The Littlest Yak is a heart-warming tale featuring beautiful puppets and catchy tunes, adapted from the popular children’s book!

Or join us for a festive treat with The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse for a truly magical family experience, bringing Charlie Mackesy’s animations to life with live accompaniment from the BBC Concert Orchestra🎄

🎟️ Tickets for The Littlest Yak are just £6 for the performance on Saturday 8 November.

Rooted Rhythms is underway! 🎶

We’re excited to be working with our schools and the wonderful team at Wooden Roots on a new project bringing Year 6 pupils from across the partnership together through music.

Over the next few months, pupils will develop their drumming skills, build confidence and create a collaborative performance for Snape Maltings.

We’ve called the project Rooted Rhythms because it’s about so much more than learning to drum. Rhythm can bring people together, create connections and help young people feel rooted in their community. We also believe every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy and benefits of making music.

This week, pupils came together at Alde Valley Academy for their first session, meeting children from other local schools and beginning their Rooted Rhythms journey. There was a fantastic energy in the room!

A huge thank you to all the pupils and staff who took part, Alde Valley Academy for hosting, and Wooden Roots for bringing the project to life🪘

We can’t wait to see how the pupils grow in confidence and to see it all come together at Snape Maltings! ✨

What a pleasure it was to visit Leiston Primary School EAST and for Mrs Gleeson to deliver our first new music session to such a lovely group of children💙

In our first class, we explored a range of songs focussing on singing in 2 pitches and having fun with rhythm and pulse with our new friend Swampy!

Year 3, are you ready to think like scientists?

We are very excited to introduce our colour chemistry workshops to schools across the partnership🧪

In these two-session workshops, pupils will explore scientific concepts, get curious about chemistry and have the chance to use real scientific equipment!

For week one we will be having fun with sphero robots where pupils in year 1 and 2 can have a go at problem-solving and and trying something new🤖

We're proud to have played a small part in helping bring science to life for local schoolchildren!
Recently, we donated bottles to the Leiston Education Partnership for use in primary school science workshops across Suffolk. The sessions were such a hit that we were happy to provide even more bottles so more children could get involved in the fun.
It's always great to support initiatives that spark curiosity and inspire the next generation.

We are excited to offer 15 Leiston Primary School EAST pupils from year 5 or 6 the chance to join the brand new Cuckoo's Choir at Britten Pears Arts, Snape Maltings!

Through weekly Friday sessions your child will have the opportunity to sing and grow through music in a supportive and engaging environment💙

✨9 sessions available up to the Christmas holidays
🎫 £1 a week - thanks to funding secured by the Leiston Education Partnership
🚌Transport included - pupils will be collected from Leiston Primary School after school, accompanied by one of our team members throughout. Your child will need to be collected by 5.10pm from Leiston Primary School
