Alex Mayer MP visits the National College for Logistics 🚛

We were delighted to welcome Alex Mayer MP, Member of Parliament for Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard, to the National College for Logistics (NC4L) yesterday to mark the formal launch of its new Driver Academy and showcase the College’s industry-focused approach to training.

A key highlight was the official launch of the Driver Academy, including the ribbon cutting for a new lorry, followed by a roundtable discussion with employers and partners including Bidfood UK, John Lewis & Partners and SP Training, to discuss the future of skills and talent in the logistics sector.

It was also a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships with our employer partners and explore how collaboration between education and industry can continue to create meaningful opportunities for students.

Thank you to Alex Mayer MP, Bidfood, John Lewis, SP Training and all our staff and partners who helped make the visit such a success.

Day two at UKREiiF

The Bedford College Group are back at UKREiiF in Leeds for day two.

Conversations are well underway, continuing to highlight just how critical construction has become for the sector.

Following insightful contributions yesterday, this morning our CEO, Yiannis Koursis chaired a workshop on how employers can drive construction skills provision.

We’re looking forward to many more important conversations over the next few hours.

This week, we’re joining partners from National CTEC at a key moment for construction and infrastructure sectors.

UKREiiF provides an important platform for key discussions. We’ve just heard from Robin Webber-Jones, Executive Director at The Bedford College Group and we look forward to joining many more workshops over the next few days!

Working Together to Shape the Future of Logistics 📦🚛

It was great to catch up with Richard James Smith, Managing Director at RHA to discuss how we continue to develop a strong framework for skills within the logistics sector.

Our conversations focused on how we can better support and inspire the next generation to enter the industry, as well as what future pathways into logistics could and should look like.

We’re pleased to have agreed a number of initiatives and look forward to building on this collaboration in the months ahead.

We also reflected on last year’s intergenerational report and how this continues to inform ongoing discussions around workforce development and long-term skills planning.
