Next week, our Casa Canto community music sessions launch at Sunshine House Wigan! 🎶

We’re really looking forward to bringing people together through music with Community Choir, Jam Night and Music for Children. 🎤🎸🎵

Whether you love to sing, play, create, or simply enjoy music and being part of a friendly community, we’d love to welcome you! 💛

There’s something for everyone, and we can’t wait to see these sessions come to life at Sunshine House.

🎶 There’s something special about singing together. 💛

Since starting in December, our community choir has brought people together each week for an hour of music, singing and plenty of smiles. We are currently preparing for our performance in September and we’d love to welcome anyone who would like to be a part of it.

No experience is needed and there are no auditions.

Just come along and sing with us! 🎵

🎶 Meet the people behind Casa Canto

If you know Casa Canto, there’s a good chance you already know one (or both!) of us, but we thought it was probably time we actually introduced ourselves on here. 👋

We’re James and Becky. Husband and wife, parents to three children, and the two people behind Casa Canto.

We met 20 years ago as music students and have been together for almost 19 years, so music has been part of our relationship from pretty much the beginning. Over the years through music, we’ve performed, taught and worked with so many people, where eventually Casa Canto became the place to bring all of it together.

We teach guitar and singing, run groups and community sessions, and work with people of different ages, abilities and backgrounds. But for us, the best part has always been what happens because of the music. Watching our member’s confidence grow, friendships and communities forming, and people just having a genuinely good time together.

And when we’re not doing that, we’re usually being outnumbered by our three very feral, but equally creative, children. 😂

So if we haven’t met you yet, hi! 👋 And if we have, you now know slightly more about the people who keep making you sing and play things.

🎸 Jam Night is coming soon!

We’re really excited to announce a new Jam Night, hosted by Casa Canto, coming to Sunshine House Wigan 🎶

A relaxed and welcoming space for singers, musicians and music lovers to come together, enjoy some music and make music with others.

We can’t wait to get started! If you want to join us, let us know so we can register interest as you're welcome to come along.

We already have the pleasure of teaching at Sunshine House, and we’re incredibly grateful for the amazing support they’ve shown Casa Canto. It means so much that they’ve welcomed us in and would like us to bring our choir into their community too.

Our group choirs and sessions continue to be such a special part of what we do, and we’re really excited to now have the opportunity to share the joy of singing with even more people locally. 🎶
