A huge congratulations to the girls football team at Forest Lodge Academy, who recently competed in the Premier League Stars U11 National Finals at Molineux Stadium ⚽🏟️
Representing Leicester City Football Club, the team competed against schools from across the country in a fantastic showcase of talent, teamwork and determination.
While the results may not have gone their way on the day, the girls should be incredibly proud of their performances against some very strong opposition. Reaching a national final is a remarkable achievement in itself and reflects the hard work, resilience and dedication they have shown throughout the year 🌟
We couldn't be prouder of everything this talented group has achieved. Well done, girls! 👏💙

Over the last few weeks, Reception children have enjoyed taking part in lots of exciting activities in and outside the classroom. They took part in a Minibeast workshop where they got to learn about and hold different creatures. To make most of the great weather they have also continued enjoying Forest Fun sessions, as well as taking part in our school's Colour Dash run before half term.

Year 1 have been looking at poetry this week, we reviewed the poem 'down on the farm' and then as a class we adapted the poem to a new setting and chose the animals. These children adapted their poems together, what fantastic job they have done. Such confidence and expression when performing their poem too!

Our Year 3 and Year 4 children recently enjoyed a fantastic football festival at the training ground of Leicester City Football Club. We took two teams to compete in a series of 6-a-side matches against schools from across the city.
Both teams performed exceptionally well and remained undefeated throughout the festival. The children displayed excellent teamwork, resilience, and determination, particularly in some very competitive games.
We are incredibly proud of the effort, attitude, and sportsmanship shown by all of the pupils. They were outstanding ambassadors for our school and should be very proud of their achievements. Well done to everyone involved! ⚽👏

Power Down Day on Tuesday 23rd June!
Our Eco Committee has come up with a fantastic idea to help us think about how much energy we use each day. During our Power Down Day, we'll be switching off screens and using minimal electricity to learn about energy, climate change and how small actions can make a big difference.
Families are welcome to join in at home too by reducing screen time, switching off unused devices and saving energy where they can. Together, we can make a positive impact on our planet!

Summer Reading Challenge
On Monday 1st June, we welcomed Jhoti from the Library Service to our assembly to launch this year’s Summer Reading Challenge. She spoke to the children about the benefits of reading over the summer and how they can take part through their local library.
The challenge is a great way for children to enjoy books, discover new authors and keep their reading skills sharp during the holidays. We encourage all children to get involved and take part in this exciting reading adventure!

Strider loved visiting Forest Lodge this morning and he would like to thank all the pupils for being so kind and respectful towards him. He is so impressed with how many pupils partake in active travel to school! Remember to walk, scoot, ride or park and stride to school to earn your monthly badge!
