💙 National Inclusion Week 💙
This week has given us a chance to pause and reflect on something that means so much to both of us — why we started Preparing Pathways.
Preparing Pathways was born from a shared passion, a shared belief and a shared dream between two friends who have spent years working alongside young people with SEND.
We’ve seen first-hand the incredible potential that young people have when they are given the right support, the right opportunities and someone who truly believes in them. We’ve also seen the barriers, the assumptions and the moments when young people can feel that the world simply isn’t built with them in mind.
We wanted to do something about that.
So, we took a leap of faith and created Preparing Pathways — with one very simple ambition: to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of young people. ❤️
For us, this isn't just about providing support. It's about getting to know the person behind the SEND label. It's about discovering their strengths, listening to their voice, celebrating their individuality and helping them see possibilities for their future.
We celebrate the moments that might seem small to someone else but mean absolutely everything to that young person — the new experience they dared to try, the confidence they found, the independence they gained, the smile that says “I did it!” 🥹💙
We believe every young person deserves to feel seen, heard, valued and included. They deserve to have dreams, choices, opportunities and a pathway that is right for them.
Starting this journey together has been one of the biggest leaps we've ever taken, but every time we see a young person flourish, we are reminded exactly why we did it.
We are incredibly proud of what we are building, incredibly proud of the young people we have the privilege of working with, and incredibly excited for the future of Preparing Pathways.
We started this because we wanted to make a difference.
And we hope that, one young person at a time, we really do. 🌈

Because inclusion isn't about changing who someone is to fit the world.
It's about changing the world so everyone has a place in it. 🌈💙

The horticulture students had a huge task of weeding, flattening, choosing the correct hand tools and clearing the back garden area over the last few weeks. Today the grass was laid and it has transformed the area! Well done team 🪏 🪴 👍

So far this week the team have trialled some recipes ready to launch on opening our cafe in a few weeks; blueberry muffins, chocolate chip cookies, homemade bread, home made jam and scones so far! The till is ready to go thanks to one of our tech savvy students and another tech expert student advisor has helped us choose the IT systems for Blethyn’s moving forward on a visit to Curry’s. The garden is coming along, and we’ve visited our local community whilst walking Poppy 🐶 oh and we’ve started the first round of gym inductions! Phew!

Next week the guys and gals will have to get used to very hard work in the garden as we need it ready before the weather turns!!
