By the end of this weekend you should be in receipt of your child’s final EHCP which should either name your school or type of setting.

EHCP – Transitions

Is your child transitioning to a new phase of education?

The deadline for EHCPs to have been reviewed, and amended by the local authority is;

🗓️15th February🗓️

For all children transferring from
• Early Years to Primary School
• Infant School to Junior School
• Primary School to Middle School
• Primary School to Secondary School
• Middle School to Secondary School

🗓️31st March🗓️

For all young people transferring from
• Secondary School to Post 16.

This means that by this date you should have your final plan naming the school or stating the type of provision your child will attend (Mainstream or Special).

💡For parents thinking ahead 💡
The LA should start the process in the Autumn term of the year before. Speak to your school in the summer term to plan in the Annual review and send out the invites, as it will be fast approaching when your child returns to school at the end of August or the beginning of September.
