Huncote Primary School

We are a school partner of LCH Charity, who since 1898 have been striving to narrow the gap between those who have opportunities and those who do not. To support this cause, our pupils participated in a Colour Dash before half term! 🏃🌈✨

Each year group enjoyed a sunny Friday running around the school field, getting splashed with colourful powdered paint and bubbles!

It was a fantastic day for a wonderful cause, thank you to everyone involved 👏

We’re incredibly proud to share that our school has been awarded the Prem Aware Award! 🏆👏

Over the past few weeks, our entire teaching team has taken part in specialist training to deepen our understanding of how premature birth can impact a child’s learning and development. This has helped us strengthen how we support children throughout their educational journey.

As a result, we feel confident and well-prepared to meet the needs of all learners within our setting, ensuring every child receives the support they deserve.

We are delighted to have received recognition for putting this learning into practice. Well done, Team Huncote! 🙌

Funded Pre-school places available for Autumn 2026.

We were delighted to welcome Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service into school this morning to work with our Year 1 and Year 5 pupils 🚒🔥

The children learned all about the important role firefighters play, as well as key safety messages including Stop, Drop and Roll, common causes of fires, the importance of having an escape plan and how smoke alarms can save lives. They also explored vital road and water safety advice.

Thank you to the Fire and Rescue team for helping to keep our pupils safe and well-informed! 👏

In recognition and celebration of Neurodiversity Awareness Month, Huncote proudly came together and dressed in bright colours, inspired by the rainbow infinity symbol of neurodiversity, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere across the school 👏🌈

Pupils took part in a range of engaging activities designed to help them learn more about neurodiversity, encouraging empathy, respect and a deeper understanding of one another 💚

Thank you to our families for their generous voluntary donations, which will go towards enhancing our SEND provision with additional resources to support all learners.

Together, we continue to build a community where everyone feels valued, supported and celebrated ✨

Introducing the newest members of the Huncote family..✨🐹

We’re excited to share that Coco and Poppy, our two therapy guinea pigs, are settling in beautifully 👏

The two‑year‑old sisters have already begun bringing a calm and joyful presence to our school, following the wonderful example set by Manorfield and St Peter's, where therapy guinea pigs have had a positive impact on pupils’ wellbeing.

We can’t wait to see the smiles and calm moments they continue to bring to school life 🐾💙
